Tim has over 13 years of experience as a practitioner, trainer and consultant in Human Factors, Human performance and Human error and the human element of risk management. His professional qualifications include a BSc in Psychology, Full Tech City & Guilds in electronics, ONC Computer programming, Ship Safety Management and Corporate membership of IOSH.

He has professional memberships of the Chartered Management Institute, The Ergonomics Society, The US Human Factors and ergonomics Society and is a Corporate Member of IOSH.

Although much of his recent career has been spent in the Oil and Gas industry, he has wide experience as a consultant with many years in public and private sector industries in the European, US and South African arenas. His most recent experience has been in behavioural modification techniques and behavioural change interventions delivering implementations for twenty five high profile clients. His experience is wide ranging including work with the nuclear reprocessing, offshore oil and gas, retail, London Underground, chemical manufacturing, cement production and aviation. Much of his Human Factors work was gained in research at Farnborough where he was a specialist in human workload, spatial awareness and cognitive processes.

Tim's primary specialities are Human Factors, Human Performance, Human Error, Management Systems analysis and open communications techniques. He is an active member of the Ergonomics Society governing council and is currently seeking election to Fellowship status. He is also an active member of the IOSH Offshore Specialist group and has been elected Chair from August 2006.

Prior to his current activities, Tim spent 21 years as a fast jet pilot in the RAF flying Jaguar and Tornado GR1 aircraft in the low level ground attack and reconnaissance roles. He was a weapons and electronic warfare instructor and spent much of his time in the training and competency assessment of aircrews.
