David has 9 years of experience as a practitioner, trainer and consultant in Health & Safety. His professional qualifications include an MSc in Health & Safety Management with Environmental Management, an HND in Quality Management with Fabrication Technology. He is a Corporate member of IOSH and an Associate Member of the IEMA.
Although much of his career has been spent in the Oil and Gas industry, David has also provided advice and support to companies in other industry sectors including Computer and Automotive Manufacturing.
During his three year tenure as Senior HSE Engineer with a computer manufacturing company he was responsible for the implementation & maintenance of ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001, the management of the site HSE Audit Programme and for the HSE elements of a process based Integrated Management System. As QHSE researcher for a Truck and Bus manufacturing company David developed a Contractor HSE Evaluation process designed to limit the company's exposure to imported HSE risk
David's primary specialities are Risk Assessment, Behavioural Safety, HSE Management Systems and Safety Coaching.
Prior to pursuing a career in Health and Safety David spent 16 years as a commercial mixed gas diver and was involved in the installation, construction, inspection and maintenance of offshore structures, templates and pipelines.
